Rocket Fuel | Carrots, Parsley, Apple Juice Recipe

Rocket Fuel, my go to favorite. I know there are a few juice recipes named Rocket Fuel, but here’s my simple and easy to make morning juice that I love because it gives me so much energy.

This Rocket Fuel juice recipe first came to me by the free juice recipe software that I use. I’ve made a couple of small modifications though. I added an apple and the quantity of carrots is also different. I want my recipes to produce enough juice for two people. Virginia (Health Juice Fanatic ‏@healthyjuicers) loves this recipe too.

I think just about everyone I talk to about juicing loves carrots. I get asked the question about whether or not to juice the greens, and juicing the greens is fine with fresh carrots. However, when I get store (grocery) bought carrots that come in a bag, I cut the big ends off. I don’t know exactly why, but the end of those carrots just don’t look appealing to me.

Of course whether or not you juice the carrot greens is left entirely up to you. Experiment and find what works best for your taste buds!

Makes 20 ounces

  • 2 lbs. of fresh carrots

  • 1 handful of parsley

  • 1 red apple

rocket fuel

The flavonoids in parsley—especially luteolin—have been shown to function as antioxidants that combine with highly reactive oxygen-containing molecules (called oxygen radicals) and help prevent oxygen-based damage to cells. In addition, extracts from parsley have been used in animal studies to help increase the antioxidant capacity of the blood. – whfoods.com

Beet - Cucumber Cleansing Juice Recipe with Carrots, Cucumber, Beets and Celery

I was a little hesitant to make the Beet – Cucumber Cleansing Juice just because it had so many ingredients, but really it’s not to difficult to make.  There are 7 ingredients, but ginger and lemon are so easy to add to a juice it doesn’t make sense for me not to try it at least once. I’m so happy I did.

This is a delicious blend. I could taste every ingredient, but none of them were overpowering. I’ll be making the Beet – Cucumber Cleansing Juice again.

Why is this a cleansing juice? For one, beets. Beets are good for the kidney, liver and bladder. Beetroot juice is also believed to be a blood purifier and is good for intestinal cleanses.

Be careful about the leaves though. The leaves are high in oxalate and people on a low oxalate diet should avoid consuming too much of the beetroot stems and leaves.beet - cucumber cleansing juice

Beet – Cucumber Cleansing Juice

The Beet – Cucumber Cleansing Juice Recipe comes from  – Juicing, Fasting, and Detoxing for Life: Unleash the Healing Power of Fresh Juices and Cleansing Diets In the book it’s called Beet – Cucumber Cleansing Cocktail and is on page 290. I changed the name slightly.

Makes 20+ ounces with a large cucumber

  •  1 cucumber, peeled

  • 3 carrots, scrubber well, tops removed, ends trimmed

  • 1 beet, scrubbed well, with stem and 1 or 2 leaves

  • 2 stalks celery

  • 1 handful parsley

  • 1 or 2 inch chunk ginger root scrubbed, or peeled if old (I used 1 inch)

  • 1/2 lemon, peeled

Researchers claims that compounds found in beets detoxify the liver and have the ability to cure diseases of the digestive system.

The benefits of juicing beets includes that it encourages liver cleansing, improves liver functioning and protects the liver from excessive alcohol consumption.

There are also indications that the benefits of beet juice includes the ability to cure kidney and liver diseases. – Juicing Benefits Toolbox

Limber Joint Libation - Cherry, Pineapple Smoothie

limber joint libationHere’s one I’ve been working with trying to get it acceptable to me. Don’t know if I’ve got there yet. It’s the Limber Joint Libation smoothie recipe.

I’ve made this a couple of times. Virginia says it’s okay, but I’m going to try and improve it. It doesn’t taste sweet enough, but maybe it’s not supposed to. I’m going to try just a little more pineapple next time.

This is an excellent recipe for inflammation though. Turmeric works on my joints, no doubt! I take turmeric daily in capsule form and it has reduced my inflammation considerably. I can’t say enough good things about turmeric.

Cherries reduce inflammation: Cherries and cherry juice have been used since the 1950s by sufferers of gout and arthritis to ease their symptoms. Gout results from an overload of uric acid in the blood (hyperuricemia), which accumulates and forms crystals in the joints, causing painful arthritis; cherry consumption has been shown to reduce circulating levels of uric acid, which may be one pathway by which cherries improve gout symptoms. – Dr. Fuhrman

This comes from the booklet I received with my NutriBullet, it’s on page 83.

Arthritis pain is often caused by inflammation in joints, which may be soothed by natural healing foods. Cherries, parsley and turmeric are widely celebrated for their inflammation fighting powers, so try this recipe if you suffer from the pains of arthritis and get your joints jumping once more! – NutriBullet
